Some Native American tribes called the August Moon the “Sturgeon Moon” because they knew that the sturgeon of the Great Lakes and Lake Champlain were most readily caught during this Full Moon. The Ojibway calld it the “Blueberry Moon” .
Join us on Saturday August 5th for our next full moon paddle. We meet at 7 pm and launch at 7:30. Sunset is 8:06 pm. Explore the Navesink as the sun sets behind the banks of the river and the night lights up with the moon and stars. Its a magical experience with a group of fun loving, easy going outdoorsy people.
Standup Paddle Boards, Kayaks and other watercraft welcome.
Bring snacks to share after.
Personal Flotation Devices, White Light visible to a mile, whistle and communication device (phone in a water proof case) required per Coast Guard regulations. Leash highly recommended for paddleboarders.
